The Story Behind RUAABI

2020. Sixth form.

RUAABI started with an idea I couldn't shake at seventeen. I made the first samples myself and had people try them out for me — and that first product was the one I'm selling today: the Pearl Facial Serum.

It felt simple at first. It wasn't.

The further I got, the more I understood what it actually takes — testing, regulation, the legal weight of putting something on someone else's skin. And A-Level exams were closing in. So I put it down.

2021–2024. University.

I went on to study nutrition. Skincare wasn't the reason — it was part of something bigger. I was into healthy eating and wellness in the holistic sense, and that included what I put on my skin and body, not just what I put in it. Nutrition was where I could go deeper into how the body actually works, how everything in it is connected, how what we eat and what we're exposed to both show up in how we feel.

At some point in those three years, I genuinely thought I might let the skincare dream go. But it never stayed gone for long — it sat at the back of my mind, quietly, waiting.

Three years of study later, in July 2024, I graduated with First Class Honours.

Three months later, a choice.

Build someone else's vision, or go back and finish building my own.

I chose the one I'd started at seventeen. At twenty-one, I came back to it — older, clearer, and finally equipped with knowledge I hadn't had the first time round. Though there was still plenty left to learn.

For the last year and a half, I've been building RUAABI.

The idea never really left. I just needed the time to grow into it.
